Within a week, it’s a third incident where dogs have been poisoned to death in New Delhi. After seven 2-month old puppies found dead last week, another 4 puppies were found lying unconscious in the same housing society (Dwarka’s Kargil Apartments) on Aug 27, 2018.
The puppies were taken to a nearby veterinary hospital where two were declared dead. The other two puppies are in critical condition.
To resolve the matter, Dwarka police is conducting a meeting today with the RWAs and civic agencies. According to the police, no clue has been found in the CCTV footage from the complex about the suspect who gave the puppies some of the kind of toxic substance, leading to their death.
A total of 14 puppies died in two Dwarka societies in the last nine days.
The preliminary medical reports of the dogs indicated that the cause of death is due to some illness. The viscera samples have been sent to forensic labs. A case has been registered under Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming animal) of IPC and under Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act. DCP (Dwarka).
