On Monday, Chennai experienced substantial rainfall caused by Cyclone Michaung, leading to flooding in various parts of the city and disrupting daily life. Although the rain has ceased, a significant portion of the town remains submerged, particularly affecting low-lying areas.
The surge in water levels and widespread destruction has not only impacted humans but has also threatened animals. Fortunately, individuals are not abandoning their four-legged companions and actively engaging in rescue efforts. A video circulating on X showcases two men rescuing two dogs stranded on the side of a road.
The caption accompanying the video emphasizes the enduring presence of Humanity: “Humanity is still alive. Thank you, rescue team.” The footage depicts two dogs stuck in floodwater, with the two men approaching them using a cart. Wading through knee-deep water, the men carefully lift the frightened dogs and place them in the vehicle to transport them to safety.
The commendable humanitarian act received gratitude and appreciation in the comments section. Many expressed their thanks for the rescue mission, and some shared additional videos portraying Good Samaritans aiding stranded animals. One user remarked, “Very nice to help these speechless souls,” while another commented, “Lovely… That gives pure satisfaction.”
