A 12-year-old boy named Ayaan was mauled to death by a group of stray dogs in the CB Ganj area in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Tuesday. Another child was also injured in this attack.
Ayaan was playing with his friends when a pack of stray dogs pounded him. The boy tried to run away but fell to the ground. The stray dogs leaped at him and viciously attacked.
Locals who witnessed the attack intervened and rescued the boy, who later died due to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
It is not the first incident of this kind in Bareilly. Two months back, a three-year-old girl succumbed to death after being attacked and dragged by stray dogs while playing in front of her home.
Another incident happened when a 12-year-old boy named Golu was playing with his friend outside his house, and seven to eight dogs pounded over him. Golu narrowly escaped death after being taken to the hospital by residents.
Residents have often written to the municipal corporation and district administration to express their concern about the stray dogs in the city. However, their concerns have so far gone unaddressed.
