Trooper Tudors adopted the dog over a week after sheltering her on the side of the road from the sweltering heat.
Cleveland, Tenn — A dog has found her new forever home with the family of her rescuer.
The dog, now named Princess by the family, has been adopted by Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Tudors. She will continue to receive treatment until she is ready to go to her new home.
On June 15, Tudors saw a dog on the side of I-75 and pulled over. He provided her shelter from the sun and gave her water along with some Little Debbie snacks.
Tudors located the crumpled and sleepy animal on the side of Interstate 75 and quickly provided the dog with a rescue from the 96-degree heat.
After finding the canine, Tudors established trust with the pup by sitting in a chair beside her. Once Princess seemed relaxed with Tudors, the trooper used an umbrella to shelter the dog from the sun and provided the dog with water and snacks.
The June 15 post received over 5,800 reactions on Facebook and encouraged positive comments from the patrol’s followers, including notes from several animal lovers thanking Trooper Tudors for taking the time to help the dog.
Princess will move into the Tudors’ home once she finishes her recovery treatment.
