The South Delhi Municipal Corporation is building an application to help them monitor sterilization efforts in the city. The application will monitor the picking up of the stray dogs from specific locations, sterilization efforts, and dropping them off at the designated locations post-treatment.
The app is believed to be ready for testing in the next 10 days, while the civic officials and select NGO staff will get trained in the beta version before pushing the application live to access for all.
The app is being set up after numerous complaints about dogs not getting sterilized and dropping them off from the locations where they were picked. With the help of the application, now the officials will have to upload proof via photographs and the timing of the pickup.
All the application data will be accessible by NGO staff and city officials at MC, along with Vets. Specific IDs and passwords will be provided to each member.
SDMC currently operates in 13 locations that fall under 13 different NGOs. Each NGO has been assigned a specific ward and is responsible for updating the application’s data for the designated area.
In addition, the SDMC officials will monitor any gaps in the services rendered, and appropriate actions will be taken.
