Man Flings A Puppy From Balcony For Damaging Laptop In Gurugram

Another horrifying incident of animal cruelty. A resident of Gurugram flung his 4-month-old pet puppy over first-floor balcony after it dropped his laptop and chewed up the DTH wires while playing. The incident took place in HUDA, M-Block, sector 42 in Gurugram. The puppy was heard yelping by a neighbor who confronted the owner for this act. The puppy’s owner allegedly fled in his car after being questioned by the neighbor,

“It was around 11 pm on Tuesday. I was doing my laundry in the backyard when I heard a sharp cry from a dog. When I came down to check, I saw the fearful puppy limping and hiding in the bushes. The couple, Dora Shlem and Phillip Maxwell, reached the spot too, and when I enquired from Maxwell, he denied doing anything and immediately fled in his car. His wife, Dora, told me everything” said neighbor, Arvind Kumar, who had witnessed the incident taking place, as saying.

Puppy fractured its right foreleg

The owner’s wife and neighbor Mr. Kumar took the puppy to CGS Pet Hospital in Gurugram. It was found that the puppy suffered from a right foreleg fracture. The leg will be operated soon.

What did the accused’s wife said?

“Generally, we love her, but that day, it really damaged the whole laptop, chewed up wires and everything. My husband got angry and flung it,” said Dora.

The wife gave the account of the incident in writing. The neighbor said he will file an FIR in the matter.

Punishment for cruelty to animals in India

The laws for animal protection in India remain useless and have not been updated since last 56 years. It is Rs. 50 fine for the first-time offender and Rs. 100 fine for the second-time offender. There is also 3 months of imprisonment for the second time or multiple offenses, but it is hardly ever seen given to the offenders.
