The Haryana government has made registration of pet dogs mandatory and decided to charge Rs 5,000 if a person is found violating the rule.
Due to an increase in the recent incidents of dog attacks and bites, the Haryana government has made the registration of pet dogs mandatory in the state.
No person will be allowed to keep a dog without a license, so the pet owners must register themselves on the Saral Portal.
A fine of Rs 5,000 will be imposed if a person violates the rules. The state government is also planning to introduce a provision for imprisonment for rules violations.
The new rules further state that the owner can keep only one dog. Also, the owners will have to put a mask on the dog’s mouth so that it will not be able to bite or attack anybody.
