In Florida, a new proposal would impact the best of good boys and their precious car rides.
Broward County Democratic state Sen. stated this on Friday. Lauren Book would ban dogs from raising their heads out of the windows of the car.
Various animal welfare regulations are included in this measure, such as banning certain animal testing, prohibiting rabbit sales before Easter, and penalising cat declawing. Also, it requires the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to post an online registry for convicted animal abusers.
As per the bill, drivers could not hold a dog in their lap, and dogs could not put their heads or any body part on a car window.
The bill calls for drivers to restrain their pets with a harness, seat belt, or, if possible, have them held by a passenger.
If a dog is being transported in a truck’s bed, drivers must restrain them in a safe or large enough crate so that the dog can turn around easily.
It would be considered a noncriminal traffic infraction, which is punishable if anyone violates the new provisions.
