The annual Chandigarh Kennel Club all-breeds championship dog show became an instant hit among the city’s dog lovers and owners.
The show was organized in sector 34 on Sunday. Dogs of various breeds made the show quite a hit. From American Cocker Spaniels to Boston Terriers, exotic dog breeds stole the show.
During the event, the canines were showcased by their handlers in a ring. The judges Simon Sim from the Philippines and KK Trivedi from Lucknow, who are experts on pure-bred dogs judged the canines based on various factors.
The criteria for evaluating the dogs included canine’s physical characteristics, movement, gait, and temperament. The judges evaluated the dogs on how closely they measured to their breed standards.
As per the organizers, shows like these are a sport to educate people about breed standards and various breed types. This isn’t a lookdown on the native dog breeds but more of a showcasing for different dog breeds and the canine’s ability to be as close to its breed’s standards.
The dog show was a huge hit with over 300 dogs of different breeds took part in it. Breeds such as Dogo Argentino, Chow Chows, Lhasa Apso, Terriers and many more were a part of the event.
Dog lovers, owners, and children thronged to the dog show and enjoyed by clicking selfies and playing with different dogs. People and dogs were seen to have a good time on the Sunday afternoon.
