The American Kennel Club’s list of recognized dog breeds has now listed two new dog breeds.
It is one of the smallest dog breeds that was developed in Russia from the English Toy Terrier. With wide eyes and trapezoidal ears, it has a tiny, unique head. The tail is bent in the form of a scythe in places where clipping is prohibited. The breed is divided into two types, both defined by their coats: one with a long coat and the other with a smooth coat.
It is a Hungarian herding dog breed. It is connected to the Puli and Pumi, from which it split in the 1930s. They are still employed for herding and engaging in a number of dog sports. Their tails vary in length from bobtails to full-size tails when they are born.
The Russian Toy will join the Toy Group, which contains 775 different dog breeds. The Mudi will join the herding category, which includes breeds like the German shepherd and collie. The Mudi is a rare breed with just 450 in the United States.
Every year, the American Kennel Club, the world’s biggest purebred dog registry, acknowledges new dog breeds, but canines must be members of a recognized breed club. The Dogo Argentino and the Barbet were added to the list last year. All registered breeds are eligible to compete in the American Kennel Club’s events and clubs.
