A stray dog dragged brutally behind a motorcycle by two men named Vijaysingh Chauhan and Sonu Singh Kamboi, for fun. An offense was registered against the two men and they were arrested. The two men tethered the dog to their motorcycle with a rope and then dragged it along.
Animal lovers reported the offense
Two animal lovers Darshit Patel and Mayank Salunke – who work for animals in the city, saw the incident live and gave a chase to stop the accused.
“They were taking the dog towards the Sama canal. We chased them and intercepted them. On being asked what they were doing, they did not give a proper reply. They left the dog and fled,” said Mayank.
While chasing them, Mayank recorded a video of the incident and clicked photographs. He also took note of the number plate of the motorcycle. They contacted an animal activist – Neha Patel, who reported the incident to police and an offense was registered at the Sama police station.

(Animal right activist) Neha said that the dog was injured and was treated by a veterinary doctor. She added that the animal was in shock after the incident.
The details, description and video helped the police identify the two men who dragged the stray dog. They were immediately arrested. However, police personnel said that they would be granted a bail as the offense was bailable at the police station itself.
