A Pitbull Mauls 7-Year-Old Louisiana Girl to Death, Owner Charged

Louisana, US: A 7-year-old girl named Sadie Davila in Louisiana was killed after being attacked by a Pitbull from a neighbor’s home.

The incident occurred Friday evening when Sadie Davila was playing outside her home in the East Baton Rouge Parish.

Despite attempts by a family member to ward off the dog with a walking cane, the animal kept attacking the kid.

Sadie was taken to the hospital with severe skull damage and multiple dog bites to her face. She later died from her injuries.

Due to the severity of the situation, the dog was euthanized on the night of the attack.

The dog’s owner, Erick Lopez, was charged with negligent homicide for failing to confine or restrain the animal.

What is negligent homicide?

Negligent homicide is a criminal charge that can be brought against an individual who causes another person’s death through negligence or carelessness.

In this case, the dog’s owner was charged with negligent homicide for failing to properly confine or restrain the animal.

It means that the owner is being held responsible for the young girl’s death because they did not take proper steps to ensure that the pitbull was kept under control and unable to attack anyone.

Do you own a Pitbull or an aggressive dog breed? Here are some key things to keep in mind!

If you are a pitbull owner, you must be aware of the potential dangers your dog can pose to others.

All dogs, regardless of breed, have the potential to be dangerous if they are not properly trained and socialized, and Pitbulls are no exception.

If you own a dog, it is vital to make sure:

  • Your dog is trained properly.
  • Your dog is adequately socialized to be comfortable and well-behaved around other people and animals.

You can take the following steps to control the dog or the situation so that your dog is unable to escape or attack anyone:

  • Consider fencing your yard.
  • Start using a leash when walking your dog or when they are outside in the yard (if there is no fence)
  • If you are unable to leash your dog or put a fence in your yard, consider putting a muzzle on them.
