He has over 7.2 lakh subscribers on his channel.
He is a Jat from Arjanwal village; Seven years ago, Harwinder Grewal intended to do something different. He already was running a dog breeding business but wanted to take it to the next level and reach a wider audience. And he succeeded.
He started a YouTube channel on pet care and services — Bhola Shola — which now has more than 7.2 lakh subscribers. For his followers, he is their personal veterinarian and a guide. Every Thursday, he takes one of the most awaited live sessions with them. He responds to the various queries of dog owners on taking care of their pets, common diseases, breeding issues, selection of good breeds, and other valuable tips. Those dog lovers who understand Hindi connect him from across India and beyond borders.
Justifying the channel’s name, Grewal narrated the story: “When I started my YouTube channel, it was not that easy to get it. I had started with another colleague, whose nickname was Bhola. We both also used to do some comedy to attract more viewers and hence got the name Bhola Shola. As we started getting some more serious audience, we eventually changed its concept and kept it strictly to dog care. Bhola left the channel in between, but we continued to run it under the same name. So now people think my name is Bhola and call me with this name when they put forth their query.”
He added, “So when the channel grew, we also diversified a bit. I have started my own product range for dogs, including supplements, and my business is doing very well.”
