Good news, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has issued a circular stating that pets are allowed on KSRTC buses from February 1.
The KSRTC has made the decision after receiving numerous complaints from passengers that they weren’t allowed to board the bus with their pet dogs. The state transport corporation has mandated 8,000 buses to allow pets on board.
According to the circular
A traveller will have to pay fares equivalent to an adult’s ticket for their pet dogs. For smaller pets such as cats, puppies, and birds in a cage, will cost equivalent to a child’s ticket. KSRTC also classified pets as ‘luggage’. Under no circumstances however, pets can be treated as part of free allowance. It is known as the permissible weight of luggage that a passenger can carry without paying extra. The limit is 30 kg per adult and 15kg for a child.
