70 Dogs Have Been Rescued From The Little Rann In Gujarat

Rajkumari Dubey has been straddling the vast desert of Kutch for over ten days to help rescue homeless dogs. Salt farmers who work to produce salt in the Little Rann of Kutch often carry a stray dog with them to protect their equipment and hutments.

In this humid summer, when we avoid going out in the sun for a considerable urgency or work emergency, an animal lover has been roosting the vast desert of Kutch for over ten days to rescue stray dogs.

Rajkumari Dubey, an animal lover, is no less than a refuge in the Little Rann for the other 70 rescued dogs she has rescued single-handedly thus far. Salt farmers who work to produce salt in the Little Rann of Kutch often carry a stray dog with them to protect their hutments and equipment and warn them of wildlife sightings.

However, these stray dogs aren’t spayed and tend to multiply.

Once the monsoon sets in, the whole desert will be flooded with neck-deep salty water, where these stray dogs will struggle.

Umpteen stray dogs succumb to hunger and heat year after year. Over the past ten days, I’ve been rescuing dogs, and by now, I’ve run out of cages to keep them; Dubey, an animal lover who lives in Oud village in Surendranagar district, near the edge of the desert, said. (PFA) People for Animals, a non-profit that helps animal welfare, has also taken steps in the past to increase money for salt farmers so they can return the dogs so that their lives can be saved.

We will visit the Little Rann of Kutch in the next two days with a larger team, equipment, and even cages so we can help rescue as many dogs as possible. The dogs will die if left alone after the monsoon sets in. As Dubey passed specific places, several dogs had already surrendered to the heat and brutal living conditions, according to PFA Mahendra Shrimali.
