3 Stray Dogs Poisoned & A Pregnant Dog Attacked In Hyderabad

After 3 puppies were burnt alive a few weeks ago in Hyderabad, another shocking incident of animal cruelty has surfaced. 3 stray dogs poisoned and a pregnant dog attacked with acid in Hyderabad! This incident happened in Yapral, Secunderabad.

3 innocent dogs have died!

An animal lover Annamma Joseph, who has been feeding the stray dogs on a regular basis, noticed the dogs crying in pain while returning home in the evening. All the 3 dogs were taken to Blue Cross Hyderabad. Two out of the three dogs who were suspected to have been poisoned have died, while the last dog has managed to survive the critical hours.

A pregnant dog was attacked with acid thrown on its face. It was rescued by Archana and Hari of Bhairav Camps; however, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

Annamma Joseph registered an FIR at the Jawahar Nagar police station. After the FIR, the police have ordered for a postmortem examination of the dogs.

Humane Society International/India is offering a cash price of up to 50,000 INR for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the culprits involved for 3 dogs poisoned and a Pregnant dog attacked with acid.

N.G Jayasimha, managing director of HSI/India said, “It would only take an ill mind to torture harmless dogs to such an extent. At least one case of animal cruelty is reported every single week and the way the crime is committed leaves us aghast. This only proves that an immediate increase in penalties against animal cruelty is absolutely necessary. We encourage anyone who has information in this case to come forward. The identity of the informant will be kept confidential.”
