Dog Who Fell 100 Feet Down Cliff Miraculously Survives

A dog that fell 100 feet off the top of a cliff in England was rescued by emergency responders last week. Yogi, the spaniel, was found cowering, wet, cold, and severely injured at the base by a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) crew based in Torbay but is now recovering.

Torbay, England: A dog that fell 100 feet down a cliff was rescued by emergency responders in England last week. Yogi, the spaniel, fell off the edge of a cliff while walking with his owner Emily Linehan, who immediately called the Coastguard and requested assistance, according to a press release by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

An RNLI lifeboat crew responding to the distress call found the dog wet, cold, and with injuries to his legs, eyes, and spine.

Crew member Jack Hawkett was able to coax Yogi out from the cliffs and aboard the lifeboat.

The dog was reunited with Linehan, who said he would make a full recovery.

The medical evaluation found that Yogi had suffered a fractured spine, fractured ribs, damage to nerves, and an injured eye. He was rushed to a veterinary surgeon for emergency surgery.

However, the canine is now back home and recovering. Linehan said, “‘I’m so grateful to the crew. There are no words for how I feel right now.”
