Vishakhapatnam: Dogs are known to be the loving companion of man for a long time. Sahitya Vardhan, a young techie from Visakhapatnam is several steps ahead of others as far as his bonding with canines is concerned.
Vardhan has set on an expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to create awareness about the street dogs. But the twist in the tale is that he is cycling across the length of the country along with his stray Indie dog, Lexie. Vardhan adopted the dog as a five-month-old puppy.
A separate trailer for Lexie has been custom designed to provide a cozy environment for Lexie. During the ride, Vardhan feeds stray dogs and educates people about the importance of adopting street dogs.
According to Vardhan, who is also a dog behaviorist, the major objective behind the expedition is to sensitize people against cruelty to animals.
There’s no worry about adopting strays because they have more immunity. Vardhan also urges the people to adopt strays instead of breed dogs as the former have more immunity and are helpless on the Indian roads.
