Recently, a 33-year-old law student was allegedly attacked by neighbors, a man and a woman from a neighboring building who objected to her daily routine of feeding stray dogs inside her housing society. The incident took place on the 23rd floor of Saptarishi building at around 8pm on Friday. When Nisha was feeding the dogs, her neighbor Rizwana Dange allegedly threatened to beat her up.
Law Student attacked for feeding stray dogs
The injured, Nisha Lodh, has been residing at the Charkop flat for the past 4 years and being an devoted dog lover often feeds and fosters strays in her society.
Nisha said, “I have been threatened by her earlier as well. I tried telling her that I was not feeding dogs in her society, and my society doesn’t have a problem with it. Nonetheless, I was scared so I went back home. After sometime, someone rang the bell. I opened the door and saw a man and the same woman. The man directly pushed me while the woman slapped me. The woman attacked me with her keys. My uncle tried to protect me, but they over powered him too.”
Nisha sustained head injuries in the scuffle and was treated at Shatabdi hospital in Kandivali.
Police registered an FIR
An FIR has been registered against the two neighbors in Charkop police station.
Vijay Bhalshankar, Senior Police Inspector, Charkop police station, said, “We are on the lookout for the accused identified as Shankar Yadav, possibly the secretary of the neighboring building and Rizwana Dange. We are collecting evidence against the accused, but haven’t seized the weapon yet.”
