A Sterilized Dog Gave Birth To 6 Puppies In Mohali

Mohali Municipal commissioner, Bhupinder Pal Singh has asked to a local authority about a detailed report regarding stray dogs sterilization after the incident of a sterilized dog giving birth in the city.

The matter was highlight when a stray dog gave birth to 6 pups despite being sterilized in a Mohali locality. The area councillor, Rajni Goyal along with her husband Arun Goyal from ward number 34 approached the MC commissioner seeking inquiry into the incident.

Arun Goyal said, “A dog, who was reportedly sterilized, has given birth in our locality. Ear of the said dog bears a cut mark that is given by the company after sterilisation of the animal. The entire process is a gimmick by the company officials as they are not carrying out the sterilization process properly and has been charging a hefty amount from the MC for the purpose.”

The MC chief said, “This is a serious matter and needs to be probed. I will direct the joint MC commissioner to submit a complete report in the matter.”

The dog who had given birth to 6 pups about 4 months ago, was sterilized by the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Udgir Maharashtra. This isn’t the first time that a sterilized stray dog has given birth.

Deputy mayor Manjit Singh Sethi said, “The working of the company has been under lens a few months ago another sterilized stray dog had given birth to 7 pups in Phase 3A. The role of the company must be probed.”

A veterinary doctor Meet Pal of ABC Company give reasons that some dogs jump borders and give birth in Mohali.

Taking the issue seriously, joint commissioner Kanu Thind said, “We will conduct a through review of the working of the said company. The MC has been paying a hefty amount for sterilization of stray dogs and if lately, we are to receive such complaints then the matter has to be taken seriously.”
