Punjab’s Moga police have arrested two people for brutally killing a stray dog with wooden sticks.
The incident came to the light when a 24-second video clip, which is part of the CCTV footage, went viral on social media.
The video clip shows the accused approaching a dog that is walking on the road. Both hit the dog with the sticks one by one, killing it on the spot.
The clip further shows one of the accused dragging the dead dog from its tail while the other stops the passers-by.
The accused have been identified as Parvinder Singh and Kuldeep Singh alias Lakhana. Both are working as ‘Sewadars’ in gurudwara Kalgidhar Sahib located in the Dashmesh Nagar area of Moga, Punjab.
While Parvinder Singh hails from Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar area of Moga, Kuldeep Singh belongs to Tarn Taran district.
The police swung into action immediately after the video clip went viral on social media showing the accused mercilessly killing the dog.
A case has been registered under section 429 of IPC and section 11 of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Act 1960.
