Great news for dog lovers and owners in the Tricity!
Soon they will be able to get all their pet’s spa and grooming needs taken care of in Panchkula. Urban local bodies Haryana minister, Kavita Jain along with MLA Gian Chand Gupta laid the foundation stone to first of its kind stray and pet dogs’ salon-cum-rehabilitation centre at Sukhdarshanpur village.
MC commissioner Rajesh Jogpal said that beside a hostel and kitchen for the stray dogs, the centre will also have facilities like special out-patient department, emergency and medical rooms.
The facility will have the capacity to house around 2,400 dogs. The focus will be on transforming ferocious stray dogs into calm and social dogs. The facility will also have a huge play area for the dogs.
The project will be built in a budget of INR 3.03 crore. The first phase includes using of 2.75 acres of land for building an administrative block and a place to keep the dogs. The rest 1.75 acres of land will be developed in the second phase. The kennel would have a lab and also work as a rehabilitation centre for dogs.
