Recently, an incident has come to light from the city Ludhiana, Punjab. According to sources, a stray dog was thrown from the rooftop by three people. The Daba police have arrested, 3 persons, and booked another under section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act for brutally beating up a stray dog in Gurbachan Street of Lohara village on Sunday evening.
The arrested have been identified as Jatinder Singh, Simranjeet Singh, and Sukhwinder Singh. And police also arrested auto-driver Manga for this case. They are all residents of Lohara village.
Sunil Kumar is a resident of New Lajpat Nagar on Pakhowal Road, who is the secretary of the Animal Protection and Welfare Society said that he received a phone call about the suspects allegedly beating up a stray dog after tying it up with an electric cable.
“The legs and the jaw of the dog were broken. It was thrown from the rooftop and thereafter the half-dead canine was dragged by tying it behind an auto-rickshaw,” Sunil Kumar (Secretary of Animal Protection and Welfare Society) told the police.
The complainant said that he shifted the critically wounded dog to a veterinary hospital in Model Town with the help of members of the society where it was undergoing treatment.
The Police said that they are investigating the case from all angles.
