Did you see Tom Daily knitting a sweater during the women’s final in Tokyo on Sunday?
You are not mistaken. Fresh from winning his first gold medal, Daley was seen knitting a dog sweater while the women’s three-meter springboard final was in progress.
The results were pretty impressive. Of course, we mean the sweater that Daley knit.
The picture of him knitting in the stands went viral instantly, and many people were keen to know what he was really working on so intently.
So, Tom didn’t let his fans and viewers wait for long and showed off his handy work on social media.
A Lockdown Creative Initiative
Tom took up knitting and crochet last year when the pandemic hit and the world went into lockdown mode. He started in March last year and created a page on Instagram to share his creations with his fans.
“The one thing that has kept me sane throughout this whole process is my love for knitting and crochet and all things stitching,” he told 564,000 followers on his Instagram knitting page @madewithlovebytomdaley.
When he won gold with his dive partner Matty Lee, he quickly knitted a medal pouch with Japanese and British flags.
