Not often do we see Indian dog breeds being pampered and showcased like it happened in the Phoenix Market city mall yesterday (12 August 2018). A one-of-a-kind dog show was organized by the Blue Cross of India that helped promote Indian dog breeds among the people. The show witnessed native dog breeds of India walking down the ramp with their proud owners.
“I couldn’t wait to get Peggie to the show. She seems to be really enjoying the attention here,” chuckled Chaz, a foreigner who adopted the two-year-old three-legged female dog, earlier this year. “I saw her at a shelter and fell in love with her that very moment. She’s part of my family now,” she said.
Tons of Indian Dog Breeds at the Show
This one of a kind event witnessed tons of Indian dog breeds with their proud owners. The rescued dogs with disabilities took the stage by storm as people cheered on these dogs and their owners.
Actress and animal rights activist Amala Akkineni, Dr. Jay Prakash, a renowned veterinarian and Nishka Choraria, owner of the mall were on the panel of judges. This dog show judged its winners based on unique categories unlike other dog shows. The dogs were judged on;
- The waggiest tail
- Most well-dressed dog
- Best smile
- Looks most like its owner etc.
All the 30 categories were light-hearted and kept in mind to cheer the Indian dog breeds and their proud owners.
The dog show ended with an adoption drive for desi puppies, rescued dogs and kittens.
