Rape Survivor Rescued By Her Pet Dog in Madhya Pradesh

Rape is the 4th most common crime against women and, on average, a woman gets raped every 13 minutes in India.

In a recent rape incident in Madhya Pradesh, a gang rape survivor was rescued by her pet dog. The shocking incident came into light when the girl started shouting and called her pet dog for help. The dog rescued the girl by attacking and biting the criminals. The dog kept barking loudly getting the attention of the crowd of people who assembled at the location to save the girl and was eventually taken to a hospital.

The police have booked 3 people in the rape case, out of them, two were accused of gang rape. According to the police, the gang rape took place in a village of  Khurai tehsil after the midnight on Aug 17, 2018. The accused were identified as Reshu Ahirwar and Puneet Ahirwar. Both two youths of the same village allegedly dragged the minor to a small room where cattle fodder was stored.

While the incident took place the girl called her pet dog for help. He attacked the two accused and they ran away writhing in pain according to the survivor statement.

After the complaint of the girl, Vipin Tamrakar, SHO of Motinagar police station has arrested both the accused. A case has been booked under sections of rape (376 of IPC) and Protection of children from sections offenses act (POCSO) against them.
