Recently, a pit bull dog owner was charged as his dog attacked a 5-year-old girl. The dog fractured her jaw and left several wounds on her face. The charges were confirmed by the Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.
Jones said that the attack on the girl happened on Millikin Street in Hamilton. The pit bull was already labeled as a dangerous dog following a separate attack on another child in September 2018. The dog is now labeled as a vicious dog.
The owner of the dog is a 37-year-old man named Justin Iceman. He is also charged with failing to confine a dangerous dog and for not notifying the dog warden about the attack. With two misdemeanor offenses and upgraded tag to vicious, the dog is now scheduled to be euthanized.
“This little girl was minding her own business when this dog broke the leash and attacked her,” Jones said in a written statement.
The girl will require continual medical care for life but is expected to make a full recovery.
The sheriff reported, “I am glad that she is expected to be fine but fear this will have a lasting impression on her. We don’t know what prompted the attack, but this dog obviously should not be around people.”

Should similar offense tags to be incorporated in the Animal Laws of India for stray dogs? Should the owners be charged for irresponsible pet dog behavior?
