Director of Veterinary Services of SDMC, RBS Tyagi said, “We had planned to roll out the online facility for pet registration by August 22 or this week end. But, now it would be available beginning of the next week.”
However. the exact day and time on which it would be made available to the people was not specified.
Documents required for pet registration online
- Proof of residence
- Vaccination certificates
Earlier nominal fee for pet registration was of Rs.50, it has been increased to Rs.500 by SDMC few months before.
After registration, a ‘dog token’ would be issued to dog owners, which would be valid for one financial year. The token should be attached to the dog’s collar or the owner can keep it handy.
SDMC also has plans to curb the stray dog menace through expansion of its sterilization facilities. They have started conducting a dog survey which would help the civic body to understand the progress of its sterilization programme.
