On Monday morning, the Indian Army sent its assault dog Zoom inside a house where the militants were holed up.
An operation was launched after security forces received input about terrorists in the Tangpawa area of the south Kashmir district late on Sunday night.
Indian Army officials said, Zoom underwent surgery and is now stable after sustaining injuries during anti-terror ops in Kashmir.
The officials said the dog’s fractured rear leg was plastered, and the splinter injuries on the face were treated during the surgery. However, the officials added that the next 24-48 hours are critical & he is under close observation of the medical team at the Army Veterinary Hospital in Srinagar.
The dog suffered injuries during an anti-terror operation in Kokernag, Anantnag when Zoom attacked terrorists and received two bullet injuries. However, despite injuries, Zoom continued with his task, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists.
Chinar Corps cast a video to celebrate the bravery and exceptional courage shown by the dog in identifying and neutralizing the terrorists. The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Tangpawa area of south Kashmir late on Sunday after receiving detailed input about the presence of terrorists in the area.

On Monday morning, the officials stated that the Army sent its assault dog named ‘Zoom’ inside the house where the terrorists were hiding. “Zoom is a highly trained, ferocious, and committed canine. Has been trained to locate and bring down terrorists,” officials added.
They added that Zoom had been a part of several anti-terror ops in the valley and, as usual, was tasked with clearing the house where terrorists were holed up.
Despite sustaining painful injuries, the dog kept fighting and helped the Army neutralize the two terrorists. The terrorists were later recognized as members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
