Madhuri Dixit Adopts A Stray Dog

Madhuri Dixit Nene has always been a dog lover and an animal rights activist for years. She has contributed towards welfare of stray animals and openly talked about the cruelty against them. She recently adopted a street dog and named him Carmelo Nene. Her family also came is support of the adoption. The dog was adopted on her son Arin’s birthday which was on 17 March.

She took to twitter to share the pictures of the newest family member. She wrote, “The smiles on our faces show how this little pup stole our hearts! Welcome to the family Carmelo Nene I urge all animal lovers to adopt pets & see how they fill your life with joy.”

Loves stray dogs

Carmelo is not the first adoption for Madhuri Dixit. She has given home to stray dog Riya. She also rescued 7 puppies on the set of dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Ja. With the help of PETA, she made sure that puppies got the right medical treatment.
