Roobi, Bobby, and Maya have now found a new home in New Delhi after being airlifted from Kabul, which fell to the Taliban earlier this month. It has thrown the country into uncertainty as thousands fled the onslaught of the Taliban’s extremist forces. The 3 sniffer dogs first landed at the Air Force Station in Gujarat’s Jamnagar before they reached the Indo-Tibetan Border Police’s Chhawla Camp in the national capital.
The trio were the dogs of the ITBP, and for three years, like elite commandos, they kept guarding the Indian Embassy in Kabul with fierce loyalty, competence, professionalism, and great bravery.
The premier border patrol organization on Monday shared a video of their furry friends, showing how they keep themselves fit in the strife-torn country. In the clip, you can see Roobi jamming away on a treadmill.
Ramming the explosive-laden vehicles would be a common tactic of terrorists, and the canine wing of the ITBP safeguarded the Indian Embassy in Kabul, said the ITBP source.
The three heroes, K9, would sniff the supplies and rations coming into the embassy. They worked hard to ensure no explosives were sneaked into the complex during the construction work of the embassy.
During their tenure in Kabul, they also smoked out many IEDs, helping protect the limbs and lives of not only the Indian diplomats, but also other local Afghan civilians working in the embassy.
