Ford has been known for revolutionizing the auto industry. This year, they have come up with a new idea, which is just a prototype – a noise-canceling dog house. This is a part of Ford initiatives – called Interventions which applies automotive knowledge to resolve everyday problems.
It is not news that dog and other pets are terrified of the sound of fireworks. Their sensitive hearing makes it highly unpleasant and it is even torturous for some of them. With this Noise-Canceling kennel, Ford wants to provide a solution to minimize the agony that the dogs go through during a fireworks show.
Similar to the technology in headphones and Ford’s own Edge SUV, the dog house detects sounds of the explosions with microphones and neutralizes them by releasing frequencies that eliminate the harsh sounds. The dog house is built with soundproofing cork panels, anti-vibration risers and soundproofed ventilation. There is also an automatic door that can help a dog take shelter quickly and shield it from loud noises instantly.
Lyn West, who is the brand content manager, Marketing Communications, Ford of Europe said,
“We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could help people in other situations. Making sure dogs and their owners could enjoy a stress-free New Year’s Eve seemed like the perfect application for our Active Noise Control system, and we have a few more ideas in progress as to how our everyday lives might benefit from a little Ford know-how.”

The kennel is still a prototype and Ford isn’t making it available for retail purposes.
