Dog Owner Booked As Pet Dog Bites The Neighbor In Chandigarh

Recently, a Sector-16 resident was booked by the Chandigarh Police after a complaint was made by the neighbor about the resident’s pet dog biting him on January 1.

The dog owner named Aman, who lives in sector 16, has a pet dog who reportedly bit Varun, the victim, on January 1. The circumstances and the situation in which the dog bit Varun isn’t cleared by the police yet. Chandigarh police is looking into the information.

Varun was admitted to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, sector- 16 for treatment and is said to be recovering well. The depth of injuries has not been disclosed by the police yet.

Case Registered

The Chandigarh police after hearing Varun’s complaint has registered a case against the owner Aman under Section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the IPC. According to the section 289, a dog owner can be punished with imprisonment for a small period that may be extended to 6 months or fined up to INR 1000. Both the punishments can be applied in this case as well.
