Tragic Fatality: Dogs Attack and Fatally Injure Infant in Bhopal – CM Seeks Input from the Public

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Sunday, solicited input from the state’s residents to address the issue of stray dogs following the tragic death of a seven-month-old boy in Bhopal. The infant was fatally attacked by a group of dogs in Ayodhya Nagar, Bhopal, with a video of the incident, depicting the severing of his hand, circulating widely on social media.

Expressing sorrow over the incident, the Chief Minister instructed officials to extend Rs 4 lakh in financial assistance to the boy’s family, who are daily-wage laborers from Guna district. Emphasizing the need for public input, Yadav stated, “It is essential to seek suggestions from the public to implement appropriate measures and prevent such occurrences.”

Police revealed that the boy’s body was exhumed on Saturday for a postmortem examination, as the family had already performed the last rites on Wednesday. Ayodhya Nagar inspector Mahesh Nilhare reported that the child’s mother had placed him on the ground while she was working nearby, and a street dog attacked him.

Following the incident, Bhopal Municipal Corporation captured eight stray dogs in Ayodhya Nagar, and the collector has directed the initiation of a campaign to apprehend such animals, according to officials.
