A heart- warming incident came to light, when a group of stray dogs protected an abandoned baby girl for hours at Howrah station in West Bengal.
According to a report published in Sangbad Pratidin
A six-month-old baby was left on a bench in the waiting area of Bengal‘s busiest stations and people walked by ignoring the baby.
Stray dogs guard abandoned girl
When no one paid attention to a crying baby, left all alone and abandoned at the station, the four-legged ‘angels’ walked in to help her. They created a protective ring around the baby.
According to bystanders, a group of dogs kept circling the baby and did not go too far to search for food.
Seeing a pack of dogs hovering at the place, an RPF constable approached them. He got surprised when he saw the dogs guarding a little baby. He immediately notified the RPF booth at the station and soon officers rushed to help the child.
Taking charge of the situation, Inspector Mihir Das and his team rescued the baby and shifted her to the hospital for examination. Later she was handed over to members of Childline.
However, this is not the first time, a similar incident was reported in the Purulia district in West Bengal, where four strays came to the rescue of the newborn.
