Stolen Dog Reunited With His Family In Noida

Recently, a Noida-based businessman found his stolen dog (American Bully) that was snatched by four men in an SUV from outside Omaxe Forest Spa society in Sector 93B, Noida, on December 20.

The missing dog named “Promise” was snatched from the hands of his 65-year-old owner Chintan Tiwari on 20 December 2017.  After the incident, Tiwari lodged a police complaint and announced Rs. 50,000 reward for the person who can help find the dog.

On 26 December 2017, the owner of a horticulture firm, Kapil Chaudhury found and returned the stolen dog to Tiwari.

What happened exactly?

Kapil Chaudhury said that around 8 pm on 25 December, when he was returning after an evening walk from a local park, he spotted three people with an American Bully.

“The trio was in a good attire and holding the dog. They told me that they were going abroad and wanted to sell the dog as there is no one to take care of him. The dog looked cute. I wanted to buy the dog and asked them for price. They asked for Rs. 1 lakh. After a hard bargain, we finally sealed the deal for Rs 30,000,” he said.

Chaudhury paid the money and returned home with the dog while the three people left the spot with the cash.

After Kapil returned home, he started searching about American Bully’s diet on the internet, and how to take care of the dog.

He found the article shared by Times of India on the stolen dog.

“I found the TOI report on the missing dog and also the Rs 50,000 reward money announced for its return. I matched the dog with the news report and realized that this was the same dog. I found that the dog and the family were emotionally attached to each other. I decided to return the dog to the family,” he said.

On 26 December evening, he took the dog to Knowledge Park police station and informed police about the matter. Mukesh Kumar, a sub-inspector, accompanied Kapil Chaudhury and took the dog to the owner.

Tiwari said he rushed to the security guard’s office after receiving the call that someone has come with their pet dog.

“I first felt that it was a normal call from a police official to enquire about the matter. Chaudhury asked me if my dog was missing. I said yes. He said that he has brought his missing dog, and he is in his SUV. I checked the SUV and found my dog inside it. I felt like crying after finding him safe,” Tiwari said.

Tiwari offered Chaudhury Rs 50,000 reward but he refused to take it, saying he was happy to unite the dog with the family. However, Chaudhury received Rs 30,000, he spent on buying the dog.

“I believe humanity is still alive,” Tiwari said.
