On World Animals’ Day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a heartwarming video of a new addition to his family, a pet dog named Noorie, all the way from Goa. In the video, Rahul surprises his mother, veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, with a gift-wrapped box containing Noorie. In August, He adopted this three-month-old Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a dog kennel in North Goa’s Mapusa.
On his way home from the airport, Rahul rode the Delhi metro, engaging with fellow passengers. The video captures a moment when a woman video-calls her sister to introduce her to Rahul. Later, Rahul introduces Noorie to Sonia at her house, and she can’t help but remark on how cute Noorie is.
The video shows Noorie happily playing with Sonia and her pet dog ‘Lapo,’ and playfully chewing on a mobile cover and a laundry basket.
According to Sharvani Pitre, who operates the dog kennel in Mapusa, Rahul took one puppy with him, and another will be sent to him later. This isn’t the first time Rahul’s pet dog has made headlines; in 2017, his tweet about his pet dog ‘Pidi’ went viral, sparking a controversy involving him and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
