Meet Pebbles, World’s Oldest Living Dog

Pebbles is now officially the world’s oldest living dog.

It was not that long ago when a 21-year-old dog named TobyKeith was named the oldest living dog by Guinness World Records. But now, the title has been snatched by a 22-year-old toy Fox Terrier Pebbles from South Carolina in the US.

Pebbles was declared the new holder of the title after his owner applied for the record. Pebbles is 22 years and 59 days old, born on 28 March 2000. Her owner Julie Gregory said in Guinness World Records that “Pebbles is like a wild teen who loves to sleep during the day and is up all night.”

News of TobyKeith’s record reached the Gregorys quickly, as many of their friends and family members knew that Pebbles was likely older.

“Bobby was sitting on the couch, and friends and family started texting and calling about a story they saw about a 21-year-old dog getting the record,” Julie told Guinness World Records.

“When I saw TobyKeith’s story all over the news, I applied,” she added. Julie’s application was approved by Guinness World Records soon after, and now Pebbles is the new record holder. However, the dog’s newfound fame hasn’t affected her life much. The tiny pup still spends her days sleeping until five in the afternoon and listening to country music.

While sleeping,” She loves listening to country music. Julie said her two favorite country singers are Conway Twitty and Dwight Yokum.”

Pebbles has grumpy moods, but usually, she is a sweet pet looking for a snuggle. The terrier also enjoys warm baths and a fine meal. As a memorable treat for her 22nd birthday, the pooch received a stack of ribs and a cake.

Pebbles sticks to a diet catered to her physical requirements and is in excellent health aside from special occasions.

Julie told Guinness World Records that her secret to keeping pet longevity is to treat each furry friend “like family because they are. Give them a happy, positive environment as much as possible, good clean food, and proper healthcare.”

“We truly love her more than anything, so for her to have this time to shine is truly precious to us,” she added.
