When you have a baby at home

You should always supervise the interactions between your dog and your baby. It is not easy to anticipate a dog’s movements when they are in a playful mood. They might cause minor harm to your baby if you are not careful.

Similarly, a small child may unknowingly hurt a pup and can get into trouble. It is better to supervise the interaction until you are sure about your dog and child’s attitude.

Traveling with your dog

It is imperative to consider safe traveling with your dog. Some dogs get injured while traveling in a car. This happens due to improper seating or positioning of the dog in the car.

You must provide a safe space for your dog in your car while traveling. Also, never forget to open a window if you are planning to leave them in the car.

Generally, you should never leave your dog in the car. Many dogs die due to heatstroke in summer while left in a car.

Taking your dog for a walk

If you have a small dog, don’t make them walk in the presence of larger dogs, especially at parks. If you are taking your dog for a walk ensure that they are comfortable walking with a leash.

Do not pull on the leash hard as it can injure their sensitive necks. Let your dog explore the world with its nose. It is how they perceive the world around them.

Food and health

Dogs love to eat. But as a pet parent, you have to ensure that your dog gets its daily nutrition. Consult your vet for a diet chart for your dog.

You should also take your dog to the vet for checkups on a semi-annual basis. If you live at a place where there is a frequent season change, you should be extra careful.

During winters, cover your pet dog with a coat. In the case of rainy seasons, if your dog gets wet, make sure to dry them up as soon as they come inside. Don’t forget to check for ticks!

Groom Your Dog

All dogs should be groomed regularly for healthy fur and the best appearance. If you have a short-coated dog, you just need to give a quick brushing every week, while if you have a longer-coated dog breed, they required daily brushing to prevent matting and to reduce shedding.  If your dog requires a haircut or trimming, you may consult a professional groomer for the perfect look.

Give Your Time

You are the most essential part of your dog’s world. You may be tired after a long day at work but your dog spent its whole day anxiously awaiting your return. You must reward your dog for being loyal to you.

You should spend some time with your dog, play with him, give them a head massage to make them feel loved!  Let your dog know that you value its company.
