Sanctuary Rescue usually accepts dogs left at local shelters, and again, they came up for support when they heard about Abby.
Abby was left off at the shelter with her belongings, such as a bed, toys, vet records, two bags, including sweaters, and a framed portrait.
Abby’s family was going through hard times and couldn’t continue to care for her. They certainly loved her and wanted to let her future family know about her.
They dropped her off at the shelter with all her comforts from home and also with a portrait as a reminder of their love for her.
“We’re thinking of hanging the dog’s portrait in our office to remind us to be humble, to give grace, to spend energy on loving instead of judging, and to always help where and when we can because you just never know what the future holds and what curveballs life might throw at you,” Sanctuary Rescue mentioned on Facebook.
Abby is now settled in a foster home and doing well. She was very well loved and cared for, and now she is enjoying a new family and being spoiled all over again.
“[Her] foster mom assured us that Abby, the senior beagle, has made herself right at home,” Sanctuary Rescue stated. “She busied herself yesterday by trying out every single dog bed in the house.” She thinks she’s Goldilocks.”
Abby will be adopted soon, and all her old belongings will be given to her new family to let them know how much she’s always been loved.
