The Humane Society for Hamilton County, found in Fishers, Indiana, posted the video of Rocky on its Facebook page on March 20.
The humane society said Rocky, a 6-year-old Terrier who is an American pit bull, had been waiting for his eternal home for a year. However, the shelter staff did not understand why he was still there.
In the video shared by the humane society, which you can view in the video player, you can see Rocky peering out of a glass door as guests of the shelter walk away. Many of them walk on by Rocky.
According to the shelter, Rocky is best-suited in a home with people over the age of 16 and to be the only pet in the home shelter staff said. Shelter staff said, according to the shelter, Rocky is best-suited in a home with people over 16 and doesn’t like sharing their stuff with anyone. Moreover, they also said he is an easy-going, loving dog and adores people. He loves treats, car rides, stuffed animals, and cuddling.
Despite the Humane Society for Hamilton County’s video of Rocky going viral on Facebook, getting lots of likes and shares, the humane society updated on March 22, saying they had some sad news. “Rocky has not even had a single person visit him so far. He has some people fill out applications, but not a single person has come into the shelter to see him yet, and actually, we don’t understand why.
A shelter worker said, “He’s such a good boy”. “Honestly, all he wants is someone to love him and cuddle him.” A month later, in late April, Rocky remained at the shelter. During this time, the humane society responded to someone’s comment: “Rocky is still waiting for his perfect person to come along.”
On April 30, the Humane Society for Hamilton County provided an update by saying Rocky went on a vast sleepover with someone curious about adopting him. Then on Friday, the humane society posted a photo of Rocky among other dogs that had found their forever family. Rocky’s adoption was ended, and he is now happy at home with his humans.
