Chandigarh Kennel Club organized an All-Breeds Championship Dog Show in Sector-34 on Saturday. As many as 40 breeds such as St Bernards, Great Danes, Bulldogs, Beagles, Pugs, Bullys and Desi puppies etc. participated in the annual dog show.
Dawson, Mr Robert(Bob) LT (Director of the Philippine Canine Club) from Korea and Mr. T. Preetham (Secretary of the Bangalore Canine Club and President of the Karavali Canine Club) from India were the judges of the show.
Around 288 people took part in the event. The event also witnessed two new breeds Maltese and Alaskan malamute.
Harinder Pal, one of the members of the Chandigarh Kennel Club said that Bem Bem (a black labrador) was the main attraction of the show.
“It bagged the first position under ‘best in show’ category. Another dog that won in this category was a Great Dane from Gurgaon,” Harinder said.
Apart from this, For T. Preetham, Dachshunds and Rottweilers from Patiala remained the undisputed winners.
“However, the show-stoppers were American Cocker and Rampur hound, which also participated in the show,” he said.
A one-year-old Tibetan Mastiff was the main attraction at the dog show. It was for the first time that it had attended the show. Anil, his owner, said that he got his Tibetan Mastiff imported from Russia. He said that his dog was the most expensive at Rs 5 lakh.
