Christmas, this year is all set to bring warmth of love for our four-legged faithful buddies that are spending every winter night on streets, guarding us from danger, thanks to the Bengaluru Opts to Adopt’s (BOTA).
Bengaluru city-based adoption drive for rescued dogs has given a chance to pet lovers and owners to donate used and extra pet supplies like leashes, medicines, pet foods and blankets for the less fortunate dogs and pups.
Christmas gifts for stray dogs
The founder of BOTA, Ritika Goel, said: “So far we have collected 7 to 8 kg of pedigree, one bag full of medicines, dog shoes and clothes from the Pawz Mas Tree at Cessna Lifeline in Domlur where the pet lovers were supposed to drop their contribution. All these have been packed in five to six goodie bags and will be handed over to Sarvodaya and Animal Aid Alliance on Christmas Day.”
This will be the 6th drive of BOTA that has earlier started from May 29, this year. The team has successfully adopted more than 75 rescue dogs and is raising funds to donate reflective collars for 730 stray dogs in order to make them avoid street accidents.
A donor, Pooja Hegde said, “I am a pet freak. I own two Labradors. I have dropped all my unused leashes and two packs of Pedigree under Pawz Mas Tree.”

An app called ‘Unikorn’ is also available for the buyers to buy these goodies online. The money will be used for fund raising to feed stray dogs. A team of 5 will be feeding over 300 stray dogs in India on this Christmas with 100 kg of food.
