Two Bikers Booked for Dragging Dog in Maharashtra

The Aurangabad city police booked two unidentified youths under relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act after a video of them dragging a dog with their bike went viral on social media.

The short clip shows the youth riding pillion pulling the dog with a rope tied to its neck. The bike has an Aurangabad registration number.

Maharashtra environment minister Aaditya Thackeray responded to a tweet on the incident and tagged district guardian minister Subhas Desai, city municipal administrator Astikkumar Pandey, and the DGP’s official handle.

A team led by local journalist Irbaz Ansari lodged a police complaint, following which an offense was registered.
