Stray Dog Killed in Delhi Following Attack on Residents

A group of people allegedly beat a stray dog to death in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh area on Sunday, according to police.

A video of the incident surfaced on social media, showing the group using sticks to attack the dog. An animal rights activist filed a complaint with the Karol Bagh Police Station, which led to the investigation.

During the inquiry, police discovered that the dog had attacked and bitten several residents of the area in the past.

A case has been registered at Karol Bagh Police Station under sections 428 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Swati Maliwal, the Delhi Commission for Women chief, condemned the incident and called for strict action against the perpetrators. The accused have been identified, and police are making efforts to arrest them.

The incident has sparked outrage among animal rights activists and has raised concerns about the need for better animal protection laws in India.
