Neighborhood in Mumbai Celebrated the Return of Lost Stray Dog

In Mumbai, India, many people have recently come together to celebrate the return of the stray dog missing for a week from his neighborhood. Whiskey, the beloved stray dog, was welcomed back with flowers, sweets, aarti, and heartwarming footage that went viral online.

Whiskey lived in the Naigaon neighborhood of Dadar in the Mumbai area. The residents used to take care of him, and according to the Instagram page “Street Dogs of Mumbai,” the stray dog went missing on February 8 from Prabhadevi, and a hunt was launched to track him down.

Concerned residents also started a social media campaign to find the Whiskey, which lasted a week. Later the pup was found near Wilson College in South Mumbai.

In the heartwarming footage, you can see the dog ferried back to his neighborhood in a taxi after being found roughly 7 km away. People in several neighborhood buildings waited for the dog, with some hanging out on their balconies to witness its return.
