Is It Your Dog’s Birthday? Let’s Celebrate!

It’s that time of the year again! Well, it’s your loving pet’s birthday again! You might be delighted to have him in your life. How do you celebrate your dog’s birthday? With an intimate cake cutting ceremony? Or a lavish party? Even if you don’t celebrate its birthday every year, you should consider doing that!

After all, your dog is as important a member of your family as the others are! So, if the others are getting to enjoy a whole day dedicated to them, why not your dog?  So, in the post today, we will learn everything about dog birthday parties – how things to be planned, the venue parting gifts, and a lot more! Read on! We believe it would be a fun read for you!

Why should you consider throwing a birthday party for your dogs? Why should you consider throwing a birthday party for your dogs

As we have already mentioned, dog parties are a great way to make your dog feel as significant as other family members. What more? They act as an ideal opportunity for your fur babies to socialize as well.

However, never plan things in a hurry or without considering their nature. Please remember that your dog will not voice their opinion like you – the humans. So, you should be prudent enough to study their behavior thoroughly before determining whether you should be opting for an intimate or a lavish party.

If your dog is aggressive or feels anxious around other pets, best to stick to an intimate family affair. Especially if there are some competitive games included, an aggressive pet may end up hurting competitors for treats.

On the other hand, if your dog is sociable, it would be a good idea to invite his dog friends to pave the way for a gala day at a beach or a park. If your dog is anxious but still can be sociable around other pets, it is best to organize a house party with a few human friends of your pet.

Hosting a dog party: What should you keep in mind?   Hosting a dog party

So, have you finally decided to throw a party for your dog? If yes, make sure you look up the endless options you access on the internet. Do you know what is going to set the tone for the party? The invitations.

As much as you would like all your friends and their pets to be a part of such a special celebration, it’ll not a prudent decision to draw up your guest list on a random basis.

Do ask these questions before zeroing in on the invited:

  • Is there anyone whose dog is allergic to certain food items?
  • Is there anyone whose dog is not all that sociable?
  • Is there anyone who your dog does not exactly like?

Please make sure you invest the right amount of thought while choosing the menu. A few food items loved by humans are highly toxic for dogs.

Even if your pet is a senior dog and is not as active as other dogs, you can still invite your doggie’s favorite friends where they can spend a memorable day over some healthy dog food, music, and cuddles.

Choosing parting gifts

Goodbyes are never easy. However, parting gifts always make them memorable. A few innovative ideas would be:

  • dog treats
  • chew toys
  • custom gifts like your doggie shirts with your pet’s photo on them

Why not? Raise money for a local animal shelter? You can ask your guests that instead of bringing gifts, they can bring gold coins (each per guest) so that you can give them away as donations. That is an ideal way of sparing a thought for the less privileged fur-babies while pampering your pet.

It is that time of the year again! It is your dog’s birthday again! How do you celebrate your dog’s birthday? With an intimate cake cutting ceremony? Or, a lavish party? Even if you don’t consider celebrating your dog’s birthday every year, you should consider doing that!

After all, your dog is as important a member of your family as the others are! Have you decided on the venue?

No matter whether you choose a beach, a park, or your home to host the party, ensure that the venue has a proper place for the dogs’ toilet. Their respective owners should be ready to clean the mess.

As far as the decorations are concerned, you can always hang around Polaroids on the trees in beaches or parks. If your home is the venue, then you, of course, have more room to play around. You can also include slideshows with their best selfies or set up a fun play booth depending on the space you have.

Games and activities

If there are quite a few games planned for the event, make sure that your guests are always hydrated – because that is something they will need. Make sure the bowls are scattered appropriately so that the doggies don’t end up fighting each other for water. Keep someone in charge of refilling the bowl as soon as required.

All doggies are cute, but since it is your fur ball’s special day, make sure he or she stands out from the rest. A bow-tie and bandana or a tux or coat (depending on the season) can get the “cutometer” going!

Depending on the host and attendees’ activity levels, it would be great to plan a few activities. An agility course, for example, can set the ball rolling with the cuties vying for the much-coveted treats or toys. You need to be creative with the choice of toys and the activities you are planning for the party.

It doesn’t matter which activity you have planned. The disobedient dogs should be on a leash while the others complete their turns.

Attending a party

Just like a host, an attendee should be equally thoughtful. If invited to a dog’s birthday party, you can also do several things that reflect how invested you are as a guest. How about wearing a doggie sweater for the special occasion? Or,

choose a cake specially made for dogs from a local pawtisserie? Even some healthy doggie treats or fun toys would do!

Just make sure you aren’t turning up empty-handed.
