Dog Guarded Owner for 36hrs After 200ft Fall Then Alerted Walkers for Help

Again, dogs have proved to be man’s best friend. Now, another incident will cement your faith in that.

A heroic and extremely loyal dog guarded her owner for 36 hours after they fell down 200ft ravine. But that was not it, and the dog alerted walkers.

With her heroic act, this intelligent dog named Suki saved 76-year-old Martin Clarke’s life. He had sustained severe injuries after the fall. Suki stayed with Martin for over a day until she found Tom Wykes, 57, his wife Danielle, 53, and their family. This was when she made her move to try and get the family’s attention.

After this, the Wykes family reported that Suki ran over to them and then took them to where Martin was lying injured, leaning against a rock in the River Esk at Lealholm, North Yorkshire.

“”If it hadn’t been for Suki, I don’tdon’t think he would have made it. She’s a clever and loyal dog. It was very reminiscent of Lassie,”” Tom said. “”Martin fell on Tuesday morning, on July 27, and we didn’t find him until Wednesday evening.””

Smart dog named Suki

Tom also mentioned that other walkers had heard Suki howling, but nobody could locate where it was coming from.

After finding Mr. Clarke, the Wykes clan sprang into action, with some dashing off to get help. Some of his family got help, and farmer Martin Ford used a chainsaw to clear a path in undergrowth so 27 members of Cleveland Mountain Rescue could reach the ravine.

Martin had surgery for chest, shoulder, back, and leg injuries. Now Suki is being looked after by Mr. Ford, who has a nearby campsite. He said: “”Martin was staying with us and went for a walk but somehow fell from the path. He’s been very fortunate. “”Suki is lovely. She has a very pleasant nature. It’sIt’s obvious she’s missing her owner.””

If it was not for Suki, things might have gone really bad for the 76-year-old man. One can not find loyalty like this just anywhere.

This is not the first time a dog has tried helping someone in need. For example, a pet dog came to the rescue of a baby deer drowning in a river. The video of this was taken by the dog’s owner and showed how the hero dog swam across the river to save the life of an extremely scared deer.
