In a distressing incident that has garnered widespread attention on social media, a city-based trader identified as Gurmukh Gangaram stands accused of poisoning a dog and her seven puppies before burning their lifeless bodies in the Khoya Mandi lane on Wednesday night. The heartbreaking video of this cruel act has gone viral, sparking outrage among society residents.
Responding to the public outcry, the district police unit promptly took action and lodged a case against the accused trader, Gurmukh Gangaram. The charges filed against him include offenses under IPC sections 428 and 429, which pertain to mischief by killing, poisoning, or maiming animals.
According to authorities, Gurmukh Gangaram operates a mobile shop within a shopping complex where, last Friday, a dog gave birth to a litter of seven puppies. Apparently upset by the presence of the animals in the vicinity, Gangaram allegedly fed them poisonous biscuits. Tragically, all the innocent canines succumbed to the lethal effects of the poison shortly after consuming the tainted food.
Following this heinous act, Gangaram proceeded to burn the bodies of the deceased dogs. A person passing by from there witnessed this gruesome scene, recorded it, and later uploaded it on the internet.
Circle Officer Yogendra Singh, from the Cantt area, commented on the matter, stating that the police have taken prompt action by registering an FIR against Gurmukh Gangaram and initiating a thorough investigation into the case.
