Hiker and His Dog Rescued After Being Stranded in A West Virginia Park

A daring team rescued a hiker and his dog after being lost in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia on Saturday.

According to the authorities, the hiker and his dog were hiking along the Appalachian Trail when they became stranded in the park due to high water levels in the Potomac River.

The hiker, identified as John Smith, called for help on his cell phone, and the Harpers Ferry Fire Department responded to the scene with a boat.

The rescue team quickly located Smith and his dog and transported them safely to the shore.

Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Superintendent Sarah L. Cunningham acknowledged the quick response of their fire department and stated that their team could rescue the hiker and his dog before things got worse.

Cunningham also reminded hikers to be aware of weather conditions and always to carry a means of communication in case of emergencies.

The hiker and his dog were reportedly uninjured and grateful for the rescue team’s efforts.
